Owls Are People, Too

These are the three photographs I shot for our portrait project.
I absolutely hate pictures of myself, but this is about as good as I'm ever going to look, so here's my self-portrait:

This second picture is of Amber Rodriguez. I really like the casual feel of the photo and the lovely green splatter-paint background:

My final portrait is not of a human, instead, it is of my fake owl, Stanley. I love his bright yellow eyes and how they contrast so sharply with the white of his body:

Why TCC Is Wonderful

I am in TCC Psychology for 4th period this semester. However, TCC classes don't start until the second week of school which results in me not having a 4th period this week. So, instead of sitting in the cafeteria with the rest of the kids, I'm hanging out in photo class and posting more portrait ideas on my blog. Enjoy.
I absolutely love the elegance of this photograph, it was taken by someone with the username Lobbiaz. I love the rich reds and how they combine with the black to create a very deep, solemn effect.

These two portraits were taken by my favorite photographer, Mitchell Davis. His style of photography is absolutely gorgeous in it's simplicity. Out of all the portraits I've ever seen, his are my favorite. He captures each person's individuality so well. I can only hope that someday my photographs of people will be as beautiful as his are.

Now I will go back to browsing Flickr in search of even more inspiration for this photo project.

Portrait Ideas

This photo was taken by Joe Lesina. In addition to his fashion sense, I really love his lighting techniques.

This photo was taken by someone whose username is Crazybobbles. I love how creepy the mask looks and the vignette around the photograph makes it even more eery.

This photo was taken by Stephane Giner. I like the way the girl in the photo is positioned and how the shadows in the photo make it's overall mood dark but hopeful.
